Can CBD Make You More Irritable?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychotomimetic component of Cannabis sativa with great psychiatric potential, including uses as an antidepressant and anxiolytic compound. It is thought to be safe for older children, but they may be more sensitive to THC and toxic pollutants, such as heavy metals and pesticides, than adults. Side effects of CBD include nausea, fatigue, and irritability. However, only very high doses of CBD can cause this symptom.

CBD can increase the level of anticoagulants and other medications in the blood by competing for the liver enzymes that break down these drugs. Grapefruit has a similar effect with certain medications. It is recommended to reduce the dose of CBD, try a different type of CBD product, or look for a more transparent brand that uses higher quality ingredients. CBD is believed to work by downregulating arousal and stimulatory neurotransmission.

This allows CBD to increase tryptophan levels in unstimulated areas of the brain, creating a passive baseline increase. I was intrigued by the idea that THC-free CBD oil could help with inflammation and pain, mainly because I had been dealing with elbow pain that wouldn't lessen despite treatment and physical therapy. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant and then diluting it with a carrier oil such as coconut oil or hemp seed oil. A new CBD nanotechnology is gaining popularity, as it states that, through patented secret processes, it makes CBD more capable (bioavailable) of being absorbed and used by the body.

However, leading researchers don't know if it's safe to consume CBD with nanotechnology in the long term or even every day. The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Mind Pump, Ben Greenfield Fitness and many more reported positive results with CBD and hemp oil. Nearly 12% of the 1500 people who responded to a survey on CBD consumption experienced dry mouth, making it the most common adverse effect. In addition, even if a drug administered simultaneously does not interact pharmacokinetically with CBD, there is the possibility that it potentiates or modulates its neurochemical influence on the brain and the central nervous system (CNS) to enhance or attenuate certain side effects. Currently, there is an optimal dose of CBD and it can be calculated to help you find the dose that best suits your needs.

Make sure not to exceed this dose and try to reduce it if you notice any irritability. I hope that if you decide to try CBD or hemp oil, they will work miracles for you, but if you experience increased anxiety or depression like me, you'll establish the connection sooner so you don't suffer unnecessarily. While more clinical trials are needed, current evidence suggests that CBD oil won't harm the kidneys at normal doses. Therefore, if you are considering using CBD products for any reason, make sure to consult your doctor first.
